Tip to tail, let’s tip the scale for pangolins!
Pangolins are the only scaled mammal on the planet. Pangolins use these scales as a sheet of armor against predators. They are so effective, even lions have trouble breaking through. Pangolins are entirely insectivorous and their 15+ inch, sticky tongue, help them eat up to 700 million insects a year! Unfortunately, all 8 species are being threatened by intense poaching and the bushmeat trade.
AAZK will be throwing it’s 3rd annual Pints and Paints for Pangolin event to raise money for African pangolin conservation! The event will feature artwork created by animals, and human artists inspired by animals. Guests will have a chance to win many of the art pieces in a raffle. In addition, an instructor from Bottles and Bottega will be coming to teach an art class to those interested in painting their own pangolin!
Light appetizers will be served at the event. Irish Times has a full bar and menu as well.
